Unit 14 Summer Show

It's about three months late, but just stumbled across these pictures I forgot to post...

The Summer Show took place at the Slade School of Fine Art between June 25 – July 3 this year. Unit 14's contribution looked a lot like this:

BD Online published this video of the show just as it opened:

Reactive Vertebrae (models 1-3)

Reactive vertebrae is a biomimetic series of mehanical sculptures which react to the atmospheric conditions around them. A series of dangling, spine-like forms inhabit an area, and, like a flower, position themselves to follow the sun’s movements over the course of a day. Prototypes mimic a variety of animal mechanisms, such as woodlice and snakes.

Carnovsky_damasco_3_2

Carnovsky is an Italian design studio. For Milan Design Week this year, they produced an exquisite range of prints whose appearance changes according to the light shining upon it. A trio of patterns are printed on the same sheet in red, green and blue, which reveal themselves in full when the corresponding colour light is shone upon them.
